OUR APPROACH

We utilize the "Whole Building" design approach, wherein the building is designed and accessed as an interdependent melding of various systems - space, object, ventilation, lighting, heating/cooling, envelope, materials, etc.

Each building design is unique, custom designed to exceed all of our client's needs. We establish the design & construction team prior to beginning the design creating a cyclical, iterative and integrated process.

Sustainability is central to all of our design works. Sustainability is the guiding principal around which all other decisions are made - environmental, sociological, and financial.

This inclusive process promotes investment and cooperation amongst project stakeholders which ultimately yields a more perfect building design.

ARCHITECTURE

We offer full architectural services from the conceptual design of our clients projects through construction. These services are offered in distinct phases beginning with creative ideation (design) and documentation (technical drawings), and ending with construction. In sequence, these phases are:

Schematic Design

We design the building for you.

Design Development

We refine the building design - give it accuracy and prepare it for engineering.

Construction Documents

We provide the technical architecture and engineering drawings/specifications and City plan-checking required to build your building.

Bidding & Negotiation

We help you hire and secure a contract with a properly qualified General Contractor to build your building.

Construction Administration

We are the watchdogs for the design - observing construction on-behalf of the Owner to be sure the project is being built according to the construction documents.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Our interiors are often inseparable from the architectural design of our projects. As a result, we offer interior design services in addition to architecture services. Providing both services to our clients promotes a high level of design integration – a harmonious finished design composed of both interior design and architecture. We select our finishes from sustainable sources within a 500 mi radius of the project in order to reduce pollution created by shipping/transporting materials.

CITY PLANNING

We offer a rare specialization – Urban Design – the design of cities, from an architectural perspective. The architectural perspective brings a strong sense of firmness, commodity and delight to the often mundane discipline of city planning. Also, being sustainability experts, we bring sustainable design to the forefront of planning cities. Carbon reduction design is integral to our urban design strategies.  

ENGINEERING

Structural engineering, mechanical engineering, plumbing engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering services are available on a sub-consulting basis for our clients. Having sub-consultants for these service, allows us to cater to our clients specific project needs by aligning the appropriate specialty engineers on a skills/fee basis. We insist that our engineers incorporate sustainable design principles into their work – using wood framing from managed forests and recycled steel in metal framing, as these choices reduce the depletion of natural resources.
